Comtech VIPERSAT CDM-570 & CDM-570L Satellite Modem Router

Comtech Vipersat Networks' CDM-570 & CDM-570L offers state of the art performance and reliability in a sophisticated and cost effective 1RU package. The CD,-570 & CDM-570L integrates router functionality into the modem, completely eliminating external serial port cabling, and allowing connection of a 10/100 Base-T LAN/WAN directly to the unit.

The CDM-570/570L’s integrated modem/router and communications controller operates as a hub or remote utilizing TDM/STDMA, SCPC and IP circuit switched management, offering flexibility and control of private satellite networks. The CDM-570/570L is designed to connect low-to-high-speed data link connections between Ethernet LAN to WAN networks, providing a variety of communications services to operators and service providers. The benefit of this architecture yields seamless bandwidth management-on-demand (BOD), while simplifying network capacity needs.

Remotes can operate in shared mode (burst) or private SCPC channels. Transmit inbound can be switched (scheduled, manually/automatically, application/load triggered), using either SCPC or STDMA burst modes.

The CDM-570/570Ls data rate range is from 2.4 kbps to 5 Mbps in 1 bit per second steps. CDM-570/570L modems used in Vipersat networks include Turbo Product Coding (TPC) as a standard feature. TPC is a FEC technique that delivers significant performance improvement when compared to Viterbi with concatenated Reed-Solomon. TPC simultaneously offers increased coding gain, lower decoding delay, and significant bandwidth savings.

The CDM-570 modem/router supports Intermediate Frequencies of 70/140 MHz.

The CDM-570L modem/router supports L-Band (950 - 1950 MHz) Intermediate Frequencies.
